New Delhi, July 17, (ANI): President Pranab Mukherjee on Sunday congratulated Vijender Singh for clinching the WBO Asia Pacific Super Middleweight title, saying the star boxer has made the country proud with his feat.

New Delhi, July 17, (ANI): President Pranab Mukherjee on Sunday congratulated Vijender Singh for clinching the WBO Asia Pacific Super Middleweight title, saying the star boxer has made the country proud with his feat. "Hearty congratulations @boxervijender, you have made whole nation proud with victory in WBO Asia Pacific championship," the President tweeted. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also congratulated the boxer, saying it was yet another display of immense skill, strength and stamina. "Congratulations @boxervijender for a hard fought and well deserved win. It was yet another display of immense skill, strength & stamina," he tweeted. Vijender scored a dominating win over Welsh-born Australian Kerry Hope in a 10-round bout here last night. Aced with the most experienced and highly-rated opponent of his professional career, the star boxer carved out a 98-92, 98-92, 100-90 verdict from the three judges to extend his record to seven wins from as many fights.
