Nike to stop selling golf equipment amid plummeting sales
Johannesburg, Aug 4 (ANI): After witnessing significant drop in the sales of golf articles during last fiscal year, sportswear giant Nike has announced that it will no longer be producing or selling golf clubs, bags or balls. The American company said that it would instead devout its resources to shoes and clothing for golfers. Earlier in June, Nike posted an 8.2 percent drop in sales of golf articles to USD 706 million during the fiscal year that ended in May. Promising 'sustainable profitable growth for Nike Golf', Nike president Trevor Edwards said in a statement that the sportswear giant was committed to being the undisputed leader in golf footwear and apparel, Sport24 reported. Nike is known for its association with former world one golfer Tiger Woods and four-time major champion Rory McIlroy. (ANI)
