Malaysia [Singapore], Apr. 14 (ANI): Indian Ace shuttler P.V. Sindhu suffered a crushing defeat against World No. 3 Carolina Marin in the quarterfinals of the of the Singapore Open Superseries tournament on Friday. Marin beat World No. 5 Sindhu 11-21, 15-21 to book a seat in the semi-finals. Despite a strong start by Sindhu, the Spaniard spared no efforts to thrash the Rio Olympic silver-medallist and convincingly beat her in the first set. The second set also witnessed a similar story with Marin dominating and completely shutting off Sindhu's momentum. Meanwhile, Indian shuttler Kidambi Srikanth showcased a spirited performance as he survived an early scare from Ihsan Maulana Mustofa of Indonesia to book his place in the quarter-finals. (ANI)
