New Delhi [India], Apr. 08 (ANI): Indian boxer K Shayam Kumar on Saturday won a gold medal in the 49kg weight category without even stepping inside the ring for his final bout at the Thailand International Tournament in Bangkok. The national silver-medallist, who also bagged gold at the 2015 edition of the boxing event, was due to take on Hasanboy Dusmatov of Uzbekistan in the summit showdown. Olympic champion Dusmatov, however, pulled out of the bout due to injury to hand over India their second medal of the tournament. Earlier, Rohit Tokas had to settle for a bronze after losing to Uzbekistan's Abduraimov Elnu in 64kg weight category.(ANI)
