Johannesburg [South Africa], Apr. 16 (ANI): Finnish racing driver Valtteri Bottas claimed his maiden career pole position after beating Mercedes team mate Lewis Hamilton by just 0.023s in Saturday's qualifying session for the 2017 Bahrain Grand Prix. Bottas made the most of a poor final lap by Hamilton to claim the prime starting position for Sunday's race. The 26-year-old Finn clocked a best lap of one minute and 28.769 seconds in the final seconds and Hamilton clocked 1:28.792. "We will only be celebrating for a short time tonight. The most important thing is to be ready for tomorrow's race," Sport24 quoted Bottas as saying. Four-time world champion Sebastian Vettel's Ferrari was joined on the second row by Daniel Ricciardo's Red Bull, with their team mates Kimi Raikkonen and Max Verstappen a row further back. Felipe Massa was eighth for Williams ahead of Romain Grosjean of Haas and Briton Jolyon Palmer in the second Renault. (ANI)
