Guwahati [India], November 24 (ANI): India continued their good run in the AIBA Youth Women's World Boxing Championships with three of its four boxers having booked their place in the finals of the tournament here on Friday.

Jyoti Gulia (51kg), Shashi Chopra (57kg) and Ankushita Boro (64kg) all stormed into the finals after registering contrasting wins in the semi-finals of their respective weight categories held at the N C Bordoloi Indoor Stadium.

Jyoti showcased a rich vein of form as she eased past Zhansaya Abdraimova of Kazakhstan 4-1 in the women's 51 kg event to set up a title clash against Russia's Ekaterina Molchanova.

Shashi, on the other hand, convincingly defeated Mongolian Namuun Monkhor 5-0 in the 57kg category while Ankushita also thrashed her Thai opponent Thanchanok Saksri 5-0 in the 64kg weight category.

While Shashi will now square off with Hong Do of Vietnam for a gold medal, Ankushita will face Russian Ekaterina Dynnik in the summit showdown.

Neha Yadav, another Indian in the fray, suffered a major setback as she slumped to a shocking 0-5 defeat at the hands of Dina Islambekova of Kazakhstan in the 87 kg weight category to crash out of the tournament. (ANI)
