Tennis pro Isaac Frost charged with match fixing
Johannesburg [South Africa], June 14 (ANI): Former Australian tennis player Isaac Frost has been charged with facilitating match-fixing at an ATP Challenger tournament in Victoria last year. Frost appeared before the Brisbane Magistrates Court facing 11 criminal charges following a joint Queensland Police, Crime and Corruption Commission (CCC) and Victoria Police investigation. However, the 28-year-old, whose highest world ranking was 651, has been granted bail and that he would now return to court on June 26 when he would also face charges of supplying dangerous drugs and one of possession. It is alleged that a number of suspicious bets were made on a tennis match that Frost played in Victoria in October, Sport24 reported. The court was told that Frost approached his fellow tennis player Oliver Anderson, 18, about fixing a match. Anderson went on to win that match in 26 minutes, 4-6, 6-0, 6-2, and the punter made a profit of 10,000 dollars. Although Anderson avoided conviction after pleading guilty to the match-fixing offence in May, he still remains under suspension by the International Tennis Federation.(ANI)
