India will look to build on their record-breaking medal haul at Hangzhou 2023 when the 20th Asian Games get underway in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, on Saturday (September 19), with a strong contingent featuring Olympic medallists and reigning champions across several disciplines.

Indian gymnast Pranati Nayak is heading into her fourth Asian Games with renewed confidence after a strong season and focused preparations at the Odisha AM/NS India Gymnastics High Performance Centre (GHPC) in Bhubaneswar, where she has been working extensively on execution and landing ahead of the Aichi-Nagoya Games 2026.

Asian Games 2026 medallist boxers will get an automatic opportunity to qualify for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, with direct entry to the 2027 World Boxing Championships in Kazakhstan, which will serve as the first qualifying event for the quadrennial Games, according to a press release.

Anish, who secured a bronze medal in the team event back in the 2022 Hangzhou edition, will be part of a star-studded Indian squad which has made its mark from the Olympics to the ISSF Shooting World Cups.
