Shanghai [China], Oct.15 (ANI): World number one Novak Djokovic suffered a shocking straight-sets defeat at the hands of 15th seeded R. Bautista Agut in the semi-finals of the Shanghai Rolex Masters here on Saturday. Bautista Agut, world number 19, took the first set in 42 minutes with his first break point and broke three times in the next to register a 4-6, 4-6 triumph over the Serbian defending champion in the men's singles event that lasted an hour and 47 minutes. Djokovic, a three-time winner of the event, was aiming to reach his 10th final of the season. Earlier, Djokovic maintained his record of reaching the semi-finals in all seven visits to the tournament after surviving a scare against the 110th ranked Mischa Zverev of Germany. Meanwhile, Bautista Agut will now face either second-seed Andy Murray or Frenchman Gilles Simon in the summit showdown.(ANI)
