Rio Olympics: Mirza-Bopanna cruise into mixed doubles quarters

World No. 14 Jack Draper produced one of the biggest results of the Indian Wells Open after defeating Serbian legend and World No. 3 Novak Djokovic in a thrilling Round 16 contest, while several top seeds progressed further in the prestigious ATP Masters 1000 tournament.

The Indian Youth boxing team continued its campaign at the World Boxing Futures Cup 2026 in Bangkok with mixed results on the second day of competition, as Radhamani Longjam and Sahil Duhan secured victories in their respective bouts.

The tournament will feature a 32-player singles main draw, preceded by a 32-player qualifying draw beginning on 1 March, along with a 16-team doubles draw. Main draw matches will commence on 3 March. As an ITF W35-category event, it offers valuable ranking points and an important opportunity for players aspiring to progress to higher-tier competitions, including the WTA Tour.

Adkar, the 21-year-old from Pune, ranked World No. 690, was playing the biggest match of her career after becoming the first Indian woman since Sania Mirza to reach an ITF W100 Final, but Vandewinkel's experience and consistency proved decisive from the outset, as per a press release from ITF.

The 21-year-old secured his maiden ATP Challenger Tour singles title with a hard-fought 7-5, 5-6, 7-6(6) victory that lasted three hours and nine minutes. The ATP Challenger 75 event, now in its sixth edition, was held at the DLTA Complex from February 16 to 22 and featured 32 singles players and 16 doubles teams competing for top honours, as per a press release from DLTA.

The blonde-haired all-rounder continued to be a constant ray of hope and a symbol of consistency in an English line-up that has delivered mixed bag performances so far. First with a 14-ball 21, with four boundaries, he pushed Three Lions to a modest 146/9 and later, with his spell of 3/22 in four overs, broke the back of Sri Lankan batting with wickets of Kusal Mendis, Pavan Rathnayake, and Dunith Wellalage.

India won all their matches in the group stage and finished at the top of the table in group A with 8 points.
