PyeongChang Paralympics to conclude today

Seoul [South Korea], March 18 (ANI): The 2018 largest Winter Paralympics will close on Sunday in PyeongChang after running over ten days.

The 12th Winter Paralympic Games opened on March 9 and saw over record 567 athletes participating from 49 countries.

The athletes were in fray for 80 gold medals, also a record for the multi-winter sport event for the disabled, reports the Yonhap News Agency.

The United States topped the medal tally with 13 gold, 15 silver and eight bronze medals.

Athletes from Russia, who competed as individuals, due to a state-sponsored doping scandal, won 24 medals which include eight gold, 10 silver and six bronze medals.

Canada finished third, with nine gold, four silver and 16 bronze medals.
