Pregnant Azarenka vows to return `pretty soon`
Johannesburg [South Africa], Dec.11 (ANI): Former world number one Victoria Azarenka, who is due to give birth to her first child next month, has expressed confidence that she will return in time to compete for most of the tournaments in the 2017 season. The two-time Grand Slam champion had earlier in July cut her season short after announcing that she was pregnant. Azarenka, however, enjoyed a lot of success earlier, having clinched victories at the Brisbane International, BNP Paribas Open and Miami Open. "I don't feel I'm missing out on something I won't be able to do again. For me, it's about getting to where I want to be and be back there again. That's my ultimate goal," Sport24 quoted Azarenka as saying. Although the 27-year-old insisted that she wanted to return to the tennis court as soon as possible, she admitted not to rush her way back. "I don't try put any time frame for myself. I would love to make it as soon as possible, but giving myself a reasonable time to fully recover and be ready. I'm not going to rush anything, and it's hard to tell before the birth actually happens. So, we'll see, but I'm positive that I can be playing tennis pretty soon," Azarenka insisted.(ANI)
