Nainital: 3-day Governor's Golf Cup comes to an end

Nainital (Uttarakhand) [India], May 26 (ANI): The three-day Governor's Cup Golf Tournament - 2019 came to a conclusion here on Sunday. The event was organised by Raj Bhawan Golf Club.

Nainital (Uttarakhand) [India], May 26 (ANI): The three-day Governor's Cup Golf Tournament - 2019 came to a conclusion here on Sunday. The event was organised by Raj Bhawan Golf Club.
Prem Singh was the winner of the tournament whereas Dinesh Panwar was declared as the runner-up.
The Super Veteran trophy was won by commander HS Bedi, while MC Nigaam finished as the runner-up.
St. Joseph's College, Nainital, was the winner of the Inter-school Governor's Cup tournament 2019 whereas Sainik School Ghoskhal ended up as the runners-up.
In the girls' category, Mohan Lal Shah, Bal Vidya Mandir, Nainital were declared as the winners whereas Emmulus Public School, Nainital was declared as the runners-up.
In the tournament, Colonel Atul Shah was declared as the best net winner. SA Nakavi came second.
While Asma Mansoor was the winner in the women's category, Hrithik Mishra, Sawant and Vivan Agarwal were declared winners in the 15-18, 12-15 and below 12 age groups, respectively.
"The Raj Bhavan Golf course is also being made available to school children. Inter-school competitions are held twice a year here," said Governor Baby Rani Maurya who gave away the prizes to the winners of the tournament at an event in Bal Bhawan here.
"Golf is helpful in the development of young people. It enhances physical strength as well as mental strength. It encourages attention and positive actions. An important purpose of this golf competition is to promote tourism in Nainital and Uttarakhand," she added. (ANI)
