Nadal to lead Spanish challenge in Davis Cup tie against India
New Delhi [India], Sept.6 (ANI): Rafael Nadal has been named in Spain's full-strength squad for the Davis Cup world group play-off tie against India, scheduled to be held in New Delhi from September 16-18. The 14-time Grand Slam champion will be joined by David Ferrer, Feliciano Lopez and Marc Lopez in the campaign led by Conchita Martinez, according to the official Twitter handle of Davis Cup. World number five Nadal, who was knocked out of the US Open after losing in the fourth round, had made his last appearance for Spain in the 5-0 relegation playoff win away to Denmark in September last year. On the other hand, India has retained the same squad fielded against South Korea in July- Ramkumar Ramanathan, Saketh Myneni, Leander Paes and Rohan Bopanna-in the Davis Cup Group 1 contest. Over the last two years, India has lost both the World Group play-off ties against Serbia and Czech Republic. The tie will be played on the hard courts of RK Khanna tennis stadium in New Delhi.
