Mystery illness leaves ex-Wimbledon champ Marion Bartoli `fearing for life`
Johannesburg, July 8 (ANI): Former Wimbledon winner Marion Bartoli has revealed that she fears for her life after contracting a mystery virus that caused her weight to plummet dramatically. The 31-year-old, who raised many eyebrows with her skeletal appearance, was recently not allowed to play in an invitational event at Wimbledon this week after doctors expressed concerns over her health. Divulging more information about her alarming condition, the 2013 champion said that the virus has left her unable to eat anything other than organic salad leaves and cucumbers without skins, Sport24 reported. Speaking to British television show, the Frenchwoman said that she has been forced to wear gloves while using mobile phone as the virus has made her hypersensitive to electrical devices. She also disclosed that she has to wash with mineral water rather than tap water. Bartoli, who has lost 30 kg since she won the Wimbledon, said that her life has been reduced to 'a living nightmare' and added that she was just 'surviving'. She believes that she picked up the virus when flying between Australia, New York and India. (ANI)
