Lendl jetting in to save Murray's season ahead of French Open
Johannesburg [South Africa], May 13 (ANI): World number one Andy Murray is all set to work closely with his part-time coach Ivan Lendl before the French Open in a bid to arrest his recent slump in form. The British maestro's struggle to find a consistent run of form continued as he slumped to a shocking straight-set defeat to Borna Coric of Croatia to bow out of Madrid Open on Thursday. Murray has barely seen Lendl since losing in the fourth round of the Australian Open in January. However, Lendl would be arriving in Europe for a week before the Roland Garros tournament and the pair would work together for the whole three weeks on grass that precedes Wimbledon. "I speak to him pretty much every Monday, I spoke to him three times the week before Monte. I speak to him maybe a couple of times per week," Sport24 quoted Murray as saying. The 29-year-old, however, ruled out that coaching situation is a reason behind his recent slump in form. "This time last year I was predominantly with Jamie (Delgado), nobody else," he added. "I stopped with Amelie (Mauresmo) here last year and things went very well on the clay, so that's no reason why things may not be going well right now. There's no blame on anyone, it's down to me," he added. The French Open is slated to be held from May 22 and runs till June 11. (ANI)
