Kyrgyzstan wants India's help in promoting Kabaddi, envoy meets Rijiju

US Ambassador to India Sergio Gor congratulated Team India on clinching the T20 World Cup 2026 title by defeating New Zealand in the final on Sunday at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium.

Negi was speaking on the sidelines of BharatPe's 'Super Over' campaign, launched ahead of the ICC Men's T20 World Cup. Explaining the idea behind the initiative, he said the campaign was designed to reconnect with consumers and merchants while reinforcing the brand's presence in the digital payments space.

The tournament will feature eight teams, including India, England, Scotland, Republic of Korea, Italy, Uruguay, Wales, and Austria, competing for three available spots in the World Cup. The teams finishing first, second, and third in the qualifiers will qualify directly for the World Cup in Belgium and the Netherlands, scheduled for August 15-30.

The announcement comes after Idris co-starred with Brad Pitt in F1 The Movie, which grossed more than $630 million at the box office, becoming the most successful sports movie of all time, according to a release.

International participation for Season 2 is anticipated from European nations including England, the Netherlands, Poland, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Germany.
