New Delhi [India], Sep 16 (ANI): Indian women boxers have bagged a total of seven medals, including three gold, two silver and two bronze at the 32nd Ahmet Comert Boxing tournament in Turkey.
While Simranjit Kaur clinched a gold medal in 64 kg category by thrashing Sema Caliskan of Turkey 5-0 in the final bout, Monika registered a convincing 5-0 victory against Ayse Cagirir of Turkey to bag the yellow metal in 48 kg category.
Bhagyabati Kachari was another Indian boxer who claimed the top-podium finish after defeating Turkish boxer Selma Karakoyun 5-0 in the final of 81 kg category.
Kachari, for her sublime display in the tournament, also received the award for the most scientific boxer at the event.
The list of silver medalists included the names of Pinki Rani and Meena Kumari who claimed the second position in the respective categories of 51 kg and 54 kg.
Pinki suffered an unfortunate result after being downed 1-4 by Turkish boxer Busenaz to settle for a silver medal while Meena too experienced a similar fate as she lost by a narrow margin with a split decision of 3-2 in the final which went in the favour of her Romanian opponent Maria Nechita.
