New Delhi [India], July 11 (ANI): Unified football team of six athletes with the intellectual disability and 5 mainstream athletes from India were given send-off ahead of Special Olympics Unified Cup here at Taj Palace on Wednesday.

New Delhi [India], July 11 (ANI): Unified football team of six athletes with the intellectual disability and 5 mainstream athletes from India were given send-off ahead of Special Olympics Unified Cup here at Taj Palace on Wednesday.
The team was presented with the games kit and momentous during the function.
Having practiced during training camps that are being held since March 2018, the team is all geared up to face global competition at the tournament which is going to be held in Chicago.
The participants and coaches arrived from the states of Delhi, Goa, Maharashtra, Punjab, Kerala, and Rajasthan to depart for the big event where they will represent Indian.
Wishing good luck to the departing team, Indian ace shuttler Saina Nehwal said that the team has put in a lot of hard work and it takes a lot to perform on such platforms.
"The athletes representing our country from the Special Olympics Bharat team are extremely special and have undergone immense training to reach this platform," Nehwal said.
"It takes a lot of courage and endurance to do what this team does. All the best to the entire team for the game," she added.
The Unified Cup is slated to be held from July 17 to July 20 in Chicago. (ANI)
