India clinch sixth gold in Asian Games

Jakarta [Indonesia], August 24 (ANI): India on Friday bagged their sixth gold medal in the ongoing 18th edition of the Asian Games after Rohan Bopanna and Divij Sharan finished top on the podium in Tennis Men's Double event.

Jakarta [Indonesia], August 24 (ANI): India on Friday bagged their sixth gold medal in the ongoing 18th edition of the Asian Games after Rohan Bopanna and Divij Sharan finished top on the podium in Tennis Men's Double event.
The Indian duo registered a 6-3, 6-4 straight-sets victory over Aleksandr Bublik and Denis Yevseyev of Kazakhstan in the final clash which lasted 52 minutes.
Earlier, Bopanna and Sharan had defeated Japanese pair of KaitoUesugi and Sho Shimabukuro 4-6, 6-3, 10-8 in a thrilling semi-final contest.
In Archery, India advanced to the quarter-final of the Compound Mixed Team event as they handed over a clinical 155-147 defeat to the Iranian side.
India's total medal count in the prestigious tournamnent now stands at 22 with six gold, four silver and twelve bronze. (ANI)
