Golfer Li Haotong clinches night golf contest 'Hero Challenge'

Dubai[UAE], Nov 15 (ANI): Young Chinese Golfer Li Haotong has won the night golf contest 'Hero Challenge' ahead of the DP World Tour Championship in Dubai.

Making a great debut at the third and final Hero Challenge event of the season, Li defeated Alex Noren in a high-scoring final round.

On the occasion, the 22-year old, Haotong, said, "It was a lot of fun. I really enjoyed playing against such great players. I hope Alex and I get to play in the final group on Sunday, too."

The competition witnessed participation of eight professional golfers who battled it out in the head-to-head target golf challenge towards a floating green off the Nasimi Beach Club.

Higher scores were given to those getting their efforts closest to the flag and Li found the innermost circle around the pin at least once in each of his three rounds.

This season, the event received a phenomenal response at the Aberdeen Asset Management Scottish Open 2017, before making a splendid comeback at the prestigious British Masters.

Patrick Reed won the first Hero Challenge at the Scottish Open at Dundonald Links in Scotland while Lee Westwood won the next one at the British Masters in Newcastle.

The DP World Tour Championship marked the season finale of the Hero Challenge. (ANI)
