Quai Antoine [Monaco], November 14 (ANI): Athletics Integrity Unit has handed a two-year ban to former 1,500 metres champion Elijah Manangoi for failing to make himself available for doping tests.
The two-year ban is backdated to December 22, 2019, the AIU said. Manangoi was provisionally suspended in July for the violations.
The ruling means "disqualification of all competitive results obtained by the athlete since 22 December 2019 with all resulting consequences, including the forfeiture of any titles, awards, medals, points prizes and appearance money," AIU said in the statement.
Manangoi took the silver medal at the 2015 Beijing world championships before winning gold in London two years later. The Kenyan pulled out of the 2019 World Athletics Championships in Doha a few days before it started. (ANI)

Tests not in focus....

Following a thumping win over Namibia, the Dutch will be aiming to present their case as genuine Super Eight stage contenders with a win over the USA in Chennai on Friday. On the other hand, the USA, left reeling after losses to defending champions India and Pakistan, would be aiming to get something to cheer for in the form of a win, even if it is, in all likelihood, a consolation one.

"A chance as good as anybody": Ponting on Australia's T20 WC

Ponting, one of the finest Australian captains of all time who led the team to the ICC Cricket World Cup 2003 and 2007 and the ICC Champions Trophy 2006 and 2009, was speaking on the latest episode of ICC Review. Australia, the 2021 edition's champions, have a very shaky record in T20 World Cups. In the last editions, losses to India and Afghanistan knocked them out in the Super Eight Stage. The six-time and current 50-over champions have not been able to replicate their generational run in Tests and ODIs in the 2000s in the T20 World Cup.

Bumrah celebrates 10 years in international cricket debut

On this day, back in 2016, Bumrah had made his international debut for India against Australia in Sydney and delivered a fine 10-over spell of 2/40 in his first time wearing Indian colours. Now fast forward a decade later, he is perhaps the most skilled fast bowler produced by India, who has helped them win several important matches and tournaments with an action so unorthdox, yorkers so lethal and pace/accuracy so on point that opponets cannot help themselves but just get bowled over by his greatness.

Bailey gives fitness updates on Cummins, Hazlewood, David

Cummins, who came after a long back injury layoff during the third Ashes Test in Adelaide and took six wickets in the series-sealing match, did not feature for four of five Ashes Tests, opting to miss the latter part of the series in order to keep his legs fresh for the T20 World Cup, even though he looked in excellent shape and form at Adelaide. Hazlewood missed the entirety of the marquee series, having hurt his right hamstring in November during Sheffield Shield action, while David's hamstring strain, the most recent injury concern, cut short his Big Bash League (BBL) stint with Hobart Hurricanes.
