Dubai Open: Sindhu beats Chen Yufei to enter finals

Dubai [UAE], December 16 (ANI): Indian star shuttler PV Sindhu beat China's Chen Yufei 21-15, 21-18 to enter the finals of the Dubai World Superseries Finals unbeaten.

Meeting Yufei for the sixth time, the Rio Olympic silver medallist ended the 59-minute match in just two games.

On Friday, the ace Indian shuttler eased past Japan's Akane Yamaguchi 21-9, 21-13 in the last group stage fixture of the women's singles to finish Group A at the top and reach the semi-finals of the tournament unbeaten.

The 22-year-old has won all her three group matches of the tournament. In her opening match, the Indian thrashed China's He Bingjao 21-11, 16-21, 21-18 and followed that up with a 21-13, 21-12 win against Japan's Sayaka Sato in second match.

Sindhu is the fourth Indian after Saina Nehwal, Diju V and Jwala Gutta to make it to the final of the year-ending event. (ANI)
