Djokovic survives scare against world No. 110 to reach Shanghai Masters semis
Johannesburg [South Africa], Oct. 14 (ANI): World No. 1 Novak Djokovic on Friday survived a scare against the 110th rank player as he fought back after being a set down to reach the Shanghai Masters semi-finals. Djokovic lost the first set and was then taken to a second-set tie-break as tensions rose at the Qi Zhong Tennis Centre against Germany's Mischa Zverev. The defending champion, eventually, came to his own and registered a 3-6, 7-6 (7/4), 6-3 victory against Zverev. The Serbian, who avoided what would have been the most humiliating defeat of his season, maintained his record of reaching the semi-finals in all seven visits to the tournament, reported Sport 24. Djokovic will now play Spain's Roberto Bautista in the semi-finals, who defeated Jo-Wilfried Tsonga 6-3, 6-4 in the last eight-match. (ANI)
