Djokovic says Rio success would be among his highest achievements
Johannesburg, Aug 4 (ANI): World number one Novak Djokovic has admitted that winning a gold medal at the Rio Olympics would be ranked as one of the greatest achievements of his illustrious career. The Serbian tennis maestro, who completed his long-awaited career Grand Slam in June following his victory at the French Open, has now set his sights on his elusive Olympic gold medal. Djokovic won a bronze medal in the 2008 Beijing Olympics and finished fourth in London four years later. While maintaining that the Olympic Games is much larger than the sport of tennis, Djokovic said the global spectacle inspires and motivates an athlete to perform at his or her level best, Sport24 reported. Following his third round-exit at Wimbledon, the 29-year-old bounced back in style with a Masters triumph in Toronto last week. Djokovic also believes that the triumph in Toronto was an ideal preparation for him before heading into the Rio Games, which starts from Friday. (ANI)
