Djokovic reaches Madrid Open semis as Nishikori retires hurt
Johannesburg [South Africa] May 12 (ANI): World number two Novak Djokovic stormed into the semi-finals of the Madrid Masters without hitting a ball as Japan's Kei Nishikori pulled out of the match due to the recurrence of a wrist injury in Spain on Friday. Last month, Nishikori, the world number eight, was also forced to withdraw from the Barcelona Open due to the injury. He now remains doubtful for the next week's Rome Masters with 10 days to go until the start of the second major of the tournament--French Open, Sport24 reported. Djokovic, on the other hand, has made it to his first semi-final since he won the Qatar Open in January. The Serbian maestro will now face fourteen-time Grand Slam Champion Rafael Nadal or face Belgium's David Goffin in the last-four clash. (ANI)
