New Delhi [India], June 2 (ANI): Delhiites on Sunday gathered at India Gate to celebrate smart cycling ahead of World Bicycle Day.
The World Bicycle Day is celebrated on June 3 worldwide.
Every year, Niti Aayog and Hero Cycles together organise this rally to send across the message that cycling is a good habit and has health benefits too. It also contributes to a cleaner environment.
"Hero Cycle and Niti Aayog every year on World Bicycle Day together wants to convey the message that cycling is a good habit. People who cycle, contribute to the pollution free environment. They stay healthy and make India prosperous," Rohit Gothi, CEO, Hero Cycles told ANI.
On Monday, people across the globe will celebrate World Bicycle Day. To acknowledge the uniqueness, longevity, and the importance of cycling, last year UN General Assembly declared June 3 as 'World Bicycle Day' and this will be the second year when it will be celebrated.
Cycling has health benefits, is affordable, and environment-friendly too. With the rise of air pollution in the world, a bicycle can be the one way to reduce it. Cycling makes you fit, strengthens your endurance power and keep you active. (ANI)
