Gold Coast [Australia], April 14 (ANI): Indian shooters continued to bring laurels even on the 11th day of the ongoing 21st edition of the Commonwealth Games, with Sanjeev Rajput bagging a gold medal in the men's 50 m rifle 3 positions here on Saturday.

Gold Coast [Australia], April 14 (ANI): Indian shooters continued to bring laurels even on the 11th day of the ongoing 21st edition of the Commonwealth Games, with Sanjeev Rajput bagging a gold medal in the men's 50 m rifle 3 positions here on Saturday.

The 37-year-old shot a new Commonwealth Games record of 454.5 in the finals to clinch India's 19th gold medal at the Belmont Shooting Centre in Gold Coast.

While Grzegorz Sych of Canada settled for a silver medal after posting the best figures of 448.4, while the bronze went to England's Dean Bale with a score of 441.2.

Earlier, Rajput shot 391 in kneeling, 399 in prone and 390 in standings to top the qualification stage with 1,180 points

Chain Singh, the other Indian shooter in the fray, finished at the fifth spot with a score of 419.1.

With this, India's medal tally in the Games has now increased to 44 medals, including 19 gold, 11 silver and 14 bronze. (ANI)
