Birmingham [UK], August 1 (ANI): Indian boxer Amit Panghal advanced to the quarterfinals of the Flyweight category by defeating Namri Berri of Vanuatu by 5-0 in his round of 16 clash at the ongoing Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham on Monday.
Amit advanced to the quarterfinals via a unanimous decision as all five judges decided in his favour. Berri was not so far against his opponent as he kept things competitive but the Indian was the better boxer in the bout.

He will take on Scotland's Lennon Mulligan in the quarter-finals on August 4.
Later today from 6:00 PM onwards, India's Hussamuddin taking on Bangladesh's Md Salin Hossain in the Over 54-57 kg category round of 16 match.
At 1:00 AM will be the round of 16 boxing match between Ashish Kumar and Travis Tapatuetoa of Niue in the Over 75-80 kg category.
Yesterday, Indian boxer Shiva Thapa crashed out of Commonwealth Games 2022 after losing to Scotland's Reese Lynch in his round of 16 match of the 63.5 kg category at the ongoing Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham on Sunday.
Thapa looked good initially but Lynch was simply better and won the match by 4-1.
Thapa defeated Pakistan's Suleman Baloch 5-0 in the first round of the men's 63 Kg weight category here at the Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham on Friday.
Earlier on Sunday, Reigning world champion Nikhat Zareen advanced into the quarter-finals of the women's light flyweight 50kg category at the ongoing Commonwealth Games 2022 in Birmingham.
In her bout at the CWG, the in-form Nikhat Zareen, who won the world championships and Strandja memorial gold earlier this year, outclassed Mozambique's Helena Ismael Bagao at the National Exhibition Centre (NEC) in Solihull to prevail by RSC (referee stops contest).
Nikhat Zareen will face Welsh boxer Helen Jones in the Birmingham 2022 boxing quarter-finals. (ANI)
