Asian Games: IOA releases final list of participants

New Delhi [India], July 27 (ANI): The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has released the final list of the participants who will be featuring in the upcoming 18th edition of the Asian Games.

New Delhi [India], July 27 (ANI): The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has released the final list of the participants who will be featuring in the upcoming 18th edition of the Asian Games.
A total of 541 athletes from India will be seen participating in 37 sports events.
Athletics will see maximum participation, with a total of 51 players participating in the prestigious tournament. It will be followed by hockey which has 36 players under the category.
Sambo has the lowest number of participants, with only one male player competing in the event.
While badminton consists of a 20-member contingent, table tennis will see 10 players participating in the event.
In 2014, India won a total of 57 medals, including 11 gold, 10 silver and 36 bronze medals.
On a related note, Asian Games are slated to take place from August 18 to September 2 in the Indonesian cities of Jakarta and Palembang. (ANI)
