Asian Games: Dharun Ayyasamy bags silver in men's 400m hurdles

Jakarta [Indonesia], August 27 (ANI): Indian athlete Dharun Ayyasamy on Monday clinched a silver medal in men's 400m hurdles event at the ongoing 18th edition of the Asian Games.

Jakarta [Indonesia], August 27 (ANI): Indian athlete Dharun Ayyasamy on Monday clinched a silver medal in men's 400m hurdles event at the ongoing 18th edition of the Asian Games.
The 21-year-old finished the race in 48.96 seconds to finish second on the podium.
While Abderrahman Samba of Qatar clinched the gold medal with a timing of 47.66 seconds in the event, Japanese athlete Takatoshi Abe settled for the bronze after completing the race in 49.12 seconds.
In women's 400m hurdles event, Anu Raghavan finished fourth with a timing of 56.92 seconds, while another Indian participant Jauna Murmu claimed the joint fifth spot with China's Yan Huang as they both clocked at 57.48 seconds.
Elsewhere, Indian boxer Amit Panghal defeated Mongolia's Enkhmandakh Kharkhuu 5-0 to storm into the quarter-final of the men's light fly 49kg category.
India's total medal tally in the prestigious tournament now stands at 38 with seven gold, eleven silver, and twenty bronze. (ANI)
