Who'd say no to biggest club in world: Lukaku on Man U move
London [U.K], July 9 (ANI): Belgium forward Romelu Lukaku has revealed that he did not have a second thought about joining Manchester United when the opportunity arose because it is the `biggest club in the world`. The 24-year-old completed a medical on Saturday after the Jose Mourinho-led club confirmed that they had reached an agreement with Everton to sign Lukaku in a deal of worth 75 million pounds. Reflecting on his deal, Lukaku said that this was the kind of opportunity he had always dreamed of as a child. "It's the biggest club in the world. It's a club that's hungry to win the league again, to be dominant in the world again and the sort of opportunity I always wanted since a child. When they came calling I didn't have to think twice. So I'm really delighted to hopefully be part of their history," goal.com quoted Lukaku as saying. Though the Old Trafford club finished sixth in the Premier League last term, they managed to clinch the EFL Cup and Europa League to eventually secure their place in the Champions League for the upcoming season. And Lukaku admitted that it was United's desire to win the silverware again in England and Europe propelled him to believe that it is the perfect opportunity for him. "Who would say no to the biggest club in the world," he asked. "The best stadium in England, the best fans. It's a perfect opportunity. I always said I want to play for a team that's challenging for every trophy that there is." Lukaku added. The Belgium international amassed 87 goals for Everton since moving to Goodison Park from Chelsea for 28 million pounds in 2014. Lukaku, who made his international debut in 2010 as a 16-year-old, also notched up 23 goals for Belgium. (ANI)
