Murray stays top, Nadal fifth in unchanged ATP rankings

Johannesburg [South Africa], May 1 (ANI): British tennis maestro Andy Murray continues to be at the top spot as the latest ATP rankings remained unchanged despite fourteen-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal winning the title at the Barcelona Open this weekend.

Johannesburg [South Africa], May 1 (ANI): British tennis maestro Andy Murray continues to be at the top spot as the latest ATP rankings remained unchanged despite fourteen-time Grand Slam champion Rafael Nadal winning the title at the Barcelona Open this weekend. Nadal, who also clinched 10th Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters title on April 30, continued his supreme run of form as he defeated Austria's Dominic Thiem 6-4, 6-1 to claim his tenth title in the Catalan capital as well. Despite the victory, the Spaniard remains at the fifth spot behind 18-time Grand Slam champion Roger Federer, who did not play, Sport24 reported. Meanwhile, Budapest winner Lucas Pouille of France surged to a career-best 14th place while 20-year-old Russian Karen Khachanov jumped 14 places to 42nd spot after making it to the quarter-finals in Barcelona. The current ATP top 10 are: 1. Andy Murray 2. Novak Djokovic 3. Stan Wawrinka 4. Roger Federer 5. Rafael Nadal 6. Milos Raonic 7. Kei Nishikori 8. Marin Cilic 9. Dominic Thiem 10. David Goffin .
