`MSN` trio power Barca to emphatic 6-1 win over Sporting in La Liga

Barcelona [Spain], Mar.2 (ANI): Barcelona produced a dominant performance on Thursday as forwards Lionel Messi, Luiz Suarez and Neymar all scored goals during their side's crushing 6-1 win over Sporting Gijon in the La Liga clash at the Camp Nou. Taking the field just a couple of hours before Real Madrid took on Las Palmas, Luis Enrique's side proved far too strong against Sporting Gijon to surge into the top of the La Liga table. Star striker Messi put his side ahead as early as in the night minute of the match before Sporting Gijon's Juan Rodriguez netted a goal in his own net to double Barcelona's lead in the 11th minute. In the 21st minute of the match, Garcia Carlos Castro struck a consolation goal for the visiting side followed by Luis Suarez's strike just seven minutes later,goal.com reported. Barcelona remained in possession in the second-half as well, with Paco Alcacer and Neymar both pulling back a goal for their side in the 49th and 65th minute, respectively. Ivan Rakitic then provided the Spanish club with a perfect finish by scoring a goal just three minutes prior to the full time. Barcelona, who have now won five home games on the spin in La Liga, will next lock horns with Celta Vigo on March 5. (ANI)
