BRICS football tournament logo to be unveiled today
Bambolim (Goa) [India], Sept.26 (ANI): The first BRICS Under-17 football tournament, a Government of India initiative, is being held in Goa in October 2016. This tournament will be played amongst the five BRICS countries, namely Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. The dates of the tournament have been coordinated to culminate with the Eighth Annual BRICS Summit, also being held at Goa. An Organising Committee for BRICS Football Tournament has been constituted as the apex committee for management and organisation of the tournament. The tournament promises to be a legacy event, setting very high standards in technical proficiency and impeccable standards of service to be provided to players, officials and spectators. Union Minister of Sports and Youth Affairs (Independent Charge) Vijay Goel will unveil the BRICS U-17 Football Logo at a ceremony to be held at the Bambolim Stadium later today. The tournament is set to commence on October 5 and the Bambolim Stadium will witness two matches every alternate day. The Final of the Tournament is scheduled to be held at Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium Fatorda on October 15. (ANI)
