Bayern Munich seal Bundesliga title after thrashing Wolfsburg 6-0
Istanbul [Turkey], Apr 30 (ANI): Bayern Munich came out with all guns blazing and thrashed Wolfsburg 6-0 to be crowned Bundesliga champions for a record fifth straight season at the Volkswagen Arena Stadium on Sunday. Bayern wrapped up their 27th championship with three games to go with a thumping win over Wolfsburg in a packed stadium. Austrian left-back David Alaba put the Carlo Ancelotti's men in the lead just 19 minutes into the game, before a double from Robert Lewandowski saw them go three ahead at the break. Arjen Robben, Thomas Muller and Joshua Kimmich struck in the 60th, 80th and 85th minute of the game as Bayern strolled to three points, reports goal.com. Bayern had a dominant season as they have scored 79 times while conceding just 17, comprehensively leading the league on both fronts. In fact, Sunday' win was the fifth time they had scored five or more. Ancelotti is now the first manager to win titles in four of 'the big five' leagues. This title will be only major piece of silverware for Bayern this season as Real Madrid defeated them in the quarter-final, eliminating them from the Champions League. Bayern sit 10 points clear of Leipzig and a further six ahead of Dortmund. (ANI)
