7th Senior National Hockey C'ship 'A' Division: RSPB thrash UP 8-0

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], June 17 (ANI): Railway Sports Promotion Board (RSPB) defeated Uttar Pradesh Hockey 8-0 in their Pool A encounter on Day Three of the ongoing Hockey India 7th Senior National Hockey Championship 2017 (Men) 'A' Division here on Saturday.

Lucknow (Uttar Pradesh) [India], June 17 (ANI): Railway Sports Promotion Board (RSPB) defeated Uttar Pradesh Hockey 8-0 in their Pool A encounter on Day Three of the ongoing Hockey India 7th Senior National Hockey Championship 2017 (Men) 'A' Division here on Saturday. A hat trick by Yuvraj Walmiki (36', 60', 60') and a brace by Malak Singh (5', 16') were enough for Railway Sports Promotion Board to register the three points. In Pool B, Hockey Punjab and Hockey Gangpur - Odisha played out an entertaining 2-2 draw. The two teams were inseparable through the game, playing high quality hockey throughout. The teams traded blows early in the first quarter, M Dhananjay (5') cancelling out Sarvanjit Singh's second minute goal for Hockey Punjab. It took till the final quarter of the game for the next goal to come, Alsem Lakra scoring in the 49th minute to give Hockey Gangpur - Odisha the lead. Sarvanjit converted a PC in the 55th minute to equalize the score and split the points. In Pool C, The Mumbai Hockey Association Ltd beat Hockey Odisha 3-0. Rajendra Pawar's brace (15', 33') and a goal by Manpreet Singh (29') completed a classy display by The Mumbai Hockey Association Ltd as they took the three points. (ANI)
