Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], April 26 (ANI): Madhya Pradesh Hockey Academy produced a rich vein of form as they hammered Mumbai Hockey Association Ltd 11-0 in their 8th Hockey India Junior Women National Championship 2018 (A Division) here on Thursday.

Goals for the victors were scored by Sadhna Sengar (40', 48', 65'), Savita (21', 57'), Neeraj Rana (33', 52'), Sarita Devi Brahmachari Mayum (45'), Poonam (59'), Kanchan Nidhi Kerketta (64') and Yogita Verma (66').

In the other Pool A match, Gangpur-Odisha beat Chandigarh 6-3. Goals for Gangpur-Odisha were scored by Janhabi Pradhan (5', 54'), skipper Jiwan Kishori Toppo (6', 35'), Namrata Jasmin Bara (46') and Premanjali Toppo (48') while Akshita Yadav (16', 19') and skipper Amritpal Kaur (8') scored for Chandigarh.

In Pool B, Odisha started their campaign with a win as they defeated Karnataka 2-1. Goals for Odisha were scored by Nimabati Singh (7') and Manju Lakra (22') while skipper SR Abhinashree (18') scored the only goal for Karnataka.

In the other Pool B match, Haryana secured an emphatic 18-0 victory over Hockey Unit of Tamil Nadu. Goals for Haryana were scored by Amrinder Kaur (2', 9', 12', 24'), Anu (6', 16', 26', 55'), Amandeep Kaur (40', 43', 47', 65'), Reet (35', 49', 52'), Manisha (17'), Priyanka (19') and Kajal (21').

In Pool C, Jharkhand secured a 10-1 win over Coorg. Goals for Jharkhand were scored by Deepika Soreng (10', 24', 62', 66'), Supriya Mundu (23', 26'), Albela Rani Toppo (24', 67'), Priya Dungdung (27') and Pinki Ekka (35') while AH Hema (51') scored Coorg's only goal.

Whereas, in the other Pool C encounter, Uttar Pradesh defeated Bhopal 4-0 where goals for the winning team were scored by Akanksha Shukla (43', 68'), Sonal Tiwari (26') and Yogita Bora (56').

Pool D saw Punjab and Sports Authority of India secure victories over their opponents in their respective opening matches. Punjab defeated Uttarakhand 7-0 as Simranjit Kaur (6', 30'), Baljinder Kaur (57', 61'), Rozy Bharti (35'), Harpreet Kaur (48') and Kirandeep Kaur (51') scored the goals.

Whereas, Sports Authority of India defeated Maharashtra 4-1 where goals for the winning team were scored by skipper Monika Sihag (11', 20', 53') and Dung Dung Betan (58') while Manashri Shedge (22') scored the only goal for Maharashtra.(ANI)
