Jr Men Hockey C'ship: Chandigarh play out 1-1 draw against Delhi

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], April 30 (ANI): Chandigarh produced a strong performance in defence as they settled with a 1-1 draw against Delhi in their Pool A clash on Day Five of the 8th Hockey India Junior Men National Championship 2018 (A Division) here on Monday.

Bhopal (Madhya Pradesh) [India], April 30 (ANI): Chandigarh produced a strong performance in defence as they settled with a 1-1 draw against Delhi in their Pool A clash on Day Five of the 8th Hockey India Junior Men National Championship 2018 (A Division) here on Monday.

The first goal of the match was scored by Delhi in only the third minute as Gulshan finished off a well-created field goal. However, Chandigarh equalized six minutes later through Sahibjeet Singh's goal in the ninth minute.

Both the teams tried to create some opportunities but neither was successful in claiming the winning goal as the match finished as a 1-1 draw.

While in Pool C, it was Services Sports Control Board who registered a 5-2 victory over The Mumbai Hockey Association Ltd. Two goals in the first half for Services Sports Control Board saw them take a 2-1 lead into the half-time break.

The victors scored thrice more in the second half to wrap up a comfortable 5-2 win as The Mumbai Hockey Association Ltd. failed to take their chances.

Goals for Services Sports Control Board were scored by H Mani Singh (42', 65', 68'), Subal Kerketta (9') and Deepak (19') while Sadiq Mohammad (32', 63') scored a brace for The Mumbai Hockey Association Ltd. (ANI)
