Bhubaneswar (Odisha) [India], Dec 1 (ANI): Ahead of its second Pool C match against Belgium in the ongoing men's Hockey World Cup, India's head coach Harendra Singh on Saturday revealed the mantra of Manpreet Singh-led team.
While explaining how to maintain their momentum, the chief coach said that he wants his players to adhere to the attacking style because of its effectiveness.
"Their circle penetration is good; We will have to play accordingly. Attacking hockey is our weapon and we will not compromise. The mantra is clear, how will they score if we don't let them have the ball?" Singh said.
Earlier on Wednesday after defeating South Africa in a massive 5-0 victory, Manpreet had said: "Overall, we played a good game (against South Africa) but we still need to improve. We got many chances in the match but we missed them. We could not convert many of the penalty corners. Our next match is with Belgium and we should not miss the crucial chances."
"Belgium are a good side. They have the ability to punish us for our mistakes. We need to keep our defence strong against them," he added.
India will take on Belgium in their next league match on December 2 in Bhubaneswar, Odisha. (ANI)
