Ronaldo pleads guilty to tax fraud, accepts fine

Madrid (Spain), Jan 22 (ANI): Juventus striker Cristiano Ronaldo on Tuesday accepted a fine of nearly 19 million euros after pleading guilty in a tax evasion case in which he was found guilty by the Spanish authorities.

Madrid (Spain), Jan 22 (ANI): Juventus striker Cristiano Ronaldo on Tuesday accepted a fine of nearly 19 million euros after pleading guilty in a tax evasion case in which he was found guilty by the Spanish authorities.
The 33-year-old reached an agreement with the state prosecutor and the relevant tax authorities to avoid a prison sentence of 23 months, Sport24 reported.
According to the Spanish rule, a sentence of two years or less than that do not carry jail term and can be served on probation.
Ronaldo was accused of consciously evading the tax of 12.1 million pounds on earnings he had generated out of his image rights between 2011 and 2014. (ANI)
