ISL: Sandesh Jhingan rejoins Mohun Bagan after spell in Croatia

A sensational four-goal performance from Jamie Maclaren powered Mohun Bagan Super Giant to a commanding 5-1 victory over Odisha FC in Indian Super League (ISL) 2025-26 at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan in Kolkata on Friday.

The Mariners moved provisionally to the top of the table with nine points, edging ahead of Jamshedpur FC on goal difference, while Mohammedan SC moved to the bottom without a point. Robson Azevedo was adjudged the Player of the Match.

The Mariners climbed to second in the table with six points, level with city rivals East Bengal FC, but behind on goal difference, while Chennaiyin FC are 11th, according to a release.

The match is scheduled for a 7:30 PM IST kick-off, as per an ISL press release. The two sides had contrasting starts to their campaigns. Mohun Bagan SG opened their season with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Kerala Blasters in the season opener, while Chennaiyin suffered a narrow one-goal defeat to Mumbai City away from home.

The Marina Machans went down by a goal in their league opener, despite stringing together several promising attacking plays while dominating possession. The match against Mohun Bagan brings an opportunity for recovery, and head coach Clifford Miranda has been left delighted with what he has seen in training from his players in the past days, as per a press release from ISL.
