Hebei [China], May 15 (ANI): Chinese football club Hebei China Fortune sacked their head coach Chris Coleman on Wednesday. Coleman held the helm of the club for 11 months.
Coleman took Wales to the Euro 2016 semi-finals and he succeeded Manuel Pellegrini as the head coach in June 2018. But, Coleman has been sacked as the team suffered a poor start in the football competition in 2019.
"After negotiation between the two sides, Chris Coleman will no longer serve as the head coach of the Hebei China Fortune," the club said in an official statement.
"We sincerely thank Coleman for his hard work and contribution and wish him all the best in future work and life," the statement added.
Hebei China fortune just claimed a single victory in the Chinese Super League (CSL) games this year, leaving the team second from bottom in the 16-team league.
The team has lost each of their past three games and supporters were seen holding up banners reading, "Hello Mr. Coleman, please go home! You're fired."
It is being speculated that the team decided to let the manager go after suffering these many losses. (ANI)
