Fan jailed for 14 weeks after assaulting Aston Villa's captain Jack Grealish

Leeds [UK], Mar 12 (ANI): Paul Mitchell was jailed for fourteen weeks on Monday after he invaded the pitch and assaulted the Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish during the match between Aston Villa and Birmingham City.

Leeds [UK], Mar 12 (ANI): Paul Mitchell was jailed for fourteen weeks on Monday after he invaded the pitch and assaulted the Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish during the match between Aston Villa and Birmingham City.
The fan has been sentenced to fourteen weeks in jail and handed a 10-year ban from football matches. 
Paul Mitchell pleaded guilty to pitch invasion and assault after punching Aston Villa's midfielder Grealish during Birmingham and Aston Villa's match on Sunday.
The 27-year old Mitchell has also been asked to pay 350 pounds in fines and is prohibited from attending football matches in the UK for the next decade.
The Football Association has resolved to work with other authorities to ensure proper safety of players and coaching staff.
This weekend a line has been crossed in terms of fan behaviour," goal.com quoted a FA Spokesperson as saying.
"We will be working with the clubs, the leagues and the police to discuss what collectively needs to be done to protect players and officials on the pitch."
"In addition, we have written to both Birmingham City and Arsenal to seek their observations to examine the security measures they had in place."
Aston Villa was able to defeat Birmingham 1-0 in the Premier League. (ANI)
