Eves set to script history, feels coach Maymol

Yangon [Myanmar], Nov 7 (ANI): Maymol Rocky, the coach of Indian women's senior national team said that she is confident of a win ahead of the opening match of 2020 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournament on Thursday against Nepal.

Yangon [Myanmar], Nov 7 (ANI): Maymol Rocky, the coach of Indian women's senior national team said that she is confident of a win ahead of the opening match of 2020 Asian Football Confederation (AFC) Women's Olympic Qualifying Tournament on Thursday against Nepal.
In the previous four editions, no Indian team has ever crossed the first-round hurdle of the tournament. "It will be historic if we are able to qualify. It will be a huge boost for the girls. We have prepared well for the challenge and will leave no stone unturned in fighting for our place in the next stage," she stated.
The team went through a training session at the Thuwunna Stadium, here, on Wednesday. "We have come prepared for the tournament. We know that it's a qualifying round for the next Olympic Games and from our side, we are ready and here to qualify for the next stage," she declared.
Coming afresh after a rigorous three-week preparatory camp in Mumbai, Maymol also feels that the team has got favourable set of matches as the game is against a familiar opponent.
"It will be extremely crucial for us to gather the much-required momentum," she added.
Giving details of the shortlisted 20-member squad from the camp held at Mumbai last week, she said, "The team has a great mix of youth and experience, which is extremely important for any team. I tried to include as many youngsters as possible, including a member of the U-19 national team. (ANI)
