Emile Heskey, Atif Malik announce 'Legends Match' in India

Mumbai [India], December 8 (ANI): Former England footballer Emile Heskey and UK's real estate tycoon Atif Malik on Friday announced 'Legends Match 2018', an initiative to promote and develop football in India.

Emile Heskey, Atif Malik announce 'Legends Match' in India

Mumbai [India], December 8 (ANI): Former England footballer Emile Heskey and UK's real estate tycoon Atif Malik on Friday announced 'Legends Match 2018', an initiative to promote and develop football in India.

The first leg of Legends Match will see an exhibition game featuring former England footballers along with coaching clinics in three cities.

Emile is in touch with his former England team-mates who will come with him to India to play exhibition games in Mumbai, Kolkata and Bengaluru to kick-off the Legends Match, an initiative which will hit new cities in a phased manner.

"I am really happy to be here in India. I am in talks with Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampard, Rio Ferdinand, Robbie Fowler and a few of my other former team-mates to come here for the fans because they are simply amazing and they love English football. We are also planning to conduct coaching clinics in various cities in India to start promotional activities in this football crazy country," said Heskey, who has 62 international caps for England.

Besides the exhibition games, Emile and Atif have come up with a sustainable programme which they are going to execute in India which isone of its kind and will be a game changer in all aspects and will give a new dimension to football and the new generation of footballers. In short, it will be a Game Changer.

All this can only be done with the help and support of football associations and Government of India for which necessary steps will be taken and he will approach them for the helping hand.

"Exciting times for Indian football fans across the country.Emile is serious about his intentions to promote football in India and I hope we together successfully achieve his desire to see India as a global footballing powerhouse in the future," added UK based property tycoon Atif Malik.(ANI)
