New Delhi [India], Jan 29 (ANI): Indian women’s football team coach Maymol Rocky is confident that India would beat Indonesia in their secondly friendly clash which is slated to be held on January 30.
In the last match, India had produced a clinical performance to clinch a 3-0 victory over Indonesia.
The coach said that though they missed a few chances against Indonesia in the first friendly clash, India have trained hard enough to register another win.
“We created a lot of chances in the first match against Indonesia. Had we taken them we could have won with a fancier scoreline. We have to take our chances and although we did have possession in and around the box, we lacked the necessary penetration. We have already started working on our finishing abilities and will try to make the most out of them (against Indonesia),” AIFF quoted Maymol, as saying.
“Indonesia are a team which are quick on the counter. We will have to be careful of that but I am confident that we can record another win. We have trained hard over the last few weeks and the team is performing really well,” she added.
Indian forward Sanju, who had given a scintillating performance against Indonesia in the first match, also talked about their upcoming match against Indonesia and admitted that it would be “challenging”.
“In the first match, Indonesia played with a lot of bodies around the box, making it difficult for us to create a clear goal scoring chance. However, we saw the chinks in their armour and found the win,” Sanju said.
“The second match against them will be challenging as they (Indonesia) will know our strengths and will make it tough for us to dominate possession," she added.
The Indian women are preparing for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Qualifiers Round 2 that are slated to be held from  April 1 to 9. (ANI)
