Bengaluru(Karnataka) [India], Mar 12 (ANI): Bengaluru FC booked place in the 2018-19 Indian Super League (ISL) final as they defeated North East United 3-0 (4-2 on aggregate) in the second leg of their semi-final at the Sree Kanteerava Stadium on Tuesday.
With both teams unable to strike, the first half went goalless. The players were looking to play with an attacking mindset in the first half even as they were unable to breach the defence.
But Bengaluru came back strongly in the second half as Nicolás Ladislao Fedor Flores, commonly known as Miku, struck the first goal for Bengaluru FC in the 72nd minute of the game.
Late strikes by Dimas Delgado in the 87th minute and Sunil Chhetri (90+2) ensured that Bengaluru march into the final.
Earlier, North East United defeated Bengaluru FC in the first-leg of their semi-final 2-1 but Bengaluru were able to come back in the second leg to reach the finals.
Mumbai City and FC Goa play in their second leg-semifinal next to decide who will take on Bengaluru in the finals of the ISL.
FC Goa defeated Mumbai City 5-1 in the first leg of their semi-finals, so one can expect Mumbai to come out all guns blazing in attack if they need to trump FC Goa on aggregate.
