Will have a good plan in place for the World Cup: Bangladesh cricketer Soumya Sarkar

Dubai [UAE], Mar 29 (ANI): Soumya Sarkar, the Bangladesh batsman has said that he will have a good plan in place for the upcoming Cricket World Cup and he will try in converting his starts to big scores.
The batsman was able to post just one fifty-plus score in the cricket World Cup 2015, but he is now looking to make amends and record better performances in the upcoming tournament.
"I was new in this [international] arena at that time. If I get the opportunity this year, there will certainly be a good plan in place for the tournament, International Cricket Council quoted Sarkar as saying.
"In many matches, I went out for 30 or 40. So I need to overcome this situation and plan accordingly. Probably I failed to manage [back in 2015], but I learned many things," he added.
The left-handed batsman has been in quite a good form this year as he scored his maiden Test century in the recently concluded series against New Zealand. The batsman went onto score a patient 149.
"My aim was to survive, if I had hurried against this type of bowling, I think it would have negatively impacted me and the team ... Once I was set, I tried to play [the ball] on merit," Sarkar said about the Test match knock.
Sarkar has often been viewed as an attacking player as he has the strike rate of 98.6. But the batsman said he is willing to adapt his game to the situations and bat as per the demands of the team.
'Maybe the plan will be different. I played freely as a junior cricketer, but now I can't play like this and will feel the pressure," he admitted.
"However, I will try to execute my international experience after going there [to the World Cup]. I will try to keep my courage which I showed before in the World Cup or Champions Trophy. I have been thinking [about] how my team will suffer if I throw my wicket away," Sarkar said.
Bangladesh will next take on Ireland and West Indies in a triangular series which will serve as a preparation for the World Cup.
Bangladesh takes on West Indies in the opening match of the triangular series on May 7. (ANI)
