New Delhi [India], April 17 (ANI): Rajasthan Royals (RR) opener Yashasvi Jaiswal and Delhi Capitals (DC) pacer Mitchell Starc had a wholesome and heartwarming chat after DC's thrilling victory over RR after a super-over at Arun Jaitley Stadium on Wednesday, with the young Indian opener hailing the Australian veteran for his pin-point yorkers in death overs.
The official X handle of DC franchise posted a video of Starc and Jaiswal, shaking hands with each other after the match.
Complementing Starc's fine bowling in his final two overs, in which he conceded just 16 runs and got a key wicket of Nitish Rana and a run-out of Dhruv Jurel on the final ball of the innings by skipper Axar Patel and KL Rahul, Jaiswal said, "Legend, Very well done, very well bowled."

The rivalry between Jaiswal and Starc was first experienced by fans during the Border-Gavaskar Trophy in Australia. During the first Test at Perth, Jaiswal took down Starc with some audacious hits during his knock of 161 after being dismissed by the veteran for cheap in the first inning. The young opener even fired some verbal jabs at Starc, taunting him by saying "It is coming too slow", a remark targetting Starc's seniority and bowling speed. Throughout the series, Starc and Jaiswal would have a healthy rivalry, with Jaiswal scoring 133 runs off his bowling in 10 innings at an average of 44.33, being dismissed by him three times. In 203 balls faced, Jaiswal hit the Aussie legend for 20 fours and a six throughout the series.
During the DC-RR match, Starc and Jaiswal had another battle, with Jaiswal getting better of Starc, who conceded 19 runs in his second over, largely due to two fours and a six hit by Jaiswal. In two T20 innings, Jaiswal has scored 26 runs against Starc in 15 balls, with four boundaries and a six and a strike rate of over 173. Starc has not been able to dismiss Jaiswal in T20s.
Jaiswal is the eighth-highest run-getter in IPL 2025, with 233 runs in seven matches at an average of 33.28 and a a strike rate of over 138, with three fifties and best score of 75.
Starc is also the fifth-highest wicket-taker so far in the competition, with 10 wickets in six matches at an average of 21.80 and best figures of 5/35.
Coming to the match, after RR opted to bowl first after winning the toss, DC posted 188/5, thanks to crucial contributions from Abishek Porel (49 in 37 balls, with five fours and a six), KL Rahul (38 in 32 balls, with two fours and two sixes), skipper Axar Patel (34 in 14 balls, with four boundaries and two sixes) and Tristan Stubbs (34* in 18 balls, with two fours and two sixes). Jofra Archer (2/32) was the top bowler for RR.
During the run-chase, half-centuries did come from Jaiswal (51 in 37 balls, with three fours and four sixes) and Nitish Rana (51 in 28 balls, with six fours and two sixes). However, Dhruv Jurel (26* in 17 balls with two sixes) and Shimron Hetymer (15* in nine balls, with a four) failed to survive Starc's yorker onslaught at death and match ended in a tie, with Starc produced a masterclass spell of 1/36 in four overs. In the superover, which was bowled by Starc again, RR scored 11 runs, which was easily chased down by DC.
Now DC is at the top with five wins and a loss, giving them 10 points. RR has sunk to eighth spot, with two wins and five losses. (ANI)
